Rising SRC-2015
This is the infamous SRC-2015 ghettoblaster from Rising. It is nicknamed "20/20" because of the badges on the front that indicate 20cm woofers. It looks like no other boombox, because of the dozens of horizontal lines carved into the front panel. It looks like a giant hair pick! The VU meter is big and centrally located for maximum visibility. The volume knob has a nice detented movement with 40 detents. Other features include One-Program Search (OPS), Loudness, Stereo Wide, and separate Phono and Aux inputs. It weighs 7.2 kg without batteries. If you buy one, you should tell the seller to be very careful when shipping it, because the chrome bars on each side can easily hit something and crack the plastic where they mount.
We believe this boombox was manufactured by Hokuyo Musen Kogyo Co Ltd. which was based in Osaka, Japan.
There are 4 other versions, with minor cosmetic changes:
Rising SRC-2005
Rising SRC-2015 Green Edition
Nippon SRC-2015B
Yorx K3681 (there is a service manual for this one).
There is a tuner light, but it only works when the switch is held down. The photograph below shows one that was modified with LED's, bypassing the switch so that it's permanently on.
